Project Summary
A commercial hybrid installation in central Olongapo, pairing a 15 kW rooftop array with 40 kWh of lithium battery storage.
The storage ratio tells you what this system is for. Forty kilowatt-hours against a 15 kW array is roughly three-quarters of a full day's generation held in reserve. A system specified this way is not built for bill reduction alone — it is built so the operation continues when the grid does not. Sizing storage at that ratio is a deliberate choice, and it follows from asking what the business loses per hour of downtime rather than what it pays per kilowatt-hour.
The array is flush-mounted on trapezoidal metal roofing above a commercial building in the town centre — a dense urban site with limited roof area, which drove both the array layout and the decision to lean on storage rather than additional capacity.
Power conversion runs through three inverters in parallel. That configuration builds the required capacity from proven modules while giving the system graceful degradation: a fault on one unit reduces output rather than stopping the system.
The equipment room is the part we would point to first. Lithium battery life is strongly temperature-dependent — sustained heat shortens usable life and reduces available capacity long before anything registers as a fault. We specified a dedicated split-type air conditioner serving the battery room, keeping the bank within its optimal range year-round. In Philippine ambient conditions that decision does more for the asset's twenty-year value than almost any other line in the specification, and it is routinely omitted.
Cable management, DC isolation and protection devices are laid out for access rather than speed of installation, and the commissioning procedure is documented and posted in the room itself — so whoever services this system in year eight, including someone who isn't us, can work on it safely.
