8 kW Hybrid Solar PV System — General Trias

General Trias, Cavite Completed May 2026
8 kW Hybrid Solar PV System — General Trias

Project Summary

An 8 kW hybrid solar PV system installed for a residential client in General Trias, Cavite.

The hybrid configuration is the significant part. A standard grid-tied system shuts down the moment utility supply fails — by design, and by law, so that rooftop systems cannot energise a line that utility crews believe is dead. A hybrid system isolates the property and keeps critical circuits running from storage instead, then recharges from the array once the sun is up.

At 8 kW this is a substantial residential array. It comfortably covers a household's everyday loads with real capacity left for air conditioning through the day, and the hybrid inverter means the evening and overnight profile is served differently from a grid-tied system.

The array is mounted on tiled roofing, which is more demanding than metal sheet. Every fixing point has to be set into the structure below and made watertight individually — mounting rails were laid out and set before any module was placed, and each penetration was weatherproofed as it was made rather than at the end.

The full crew worked in harnesses, helmets and hi-vis throughout. Tiled pitched roofs give poor footing and are unforgiving of a slip, and fall protection on this kind of work is not optional.
