Project Summary
An 800-module rooftop array on a long-span industrial facility in Cavite, serviced under a scheduled preventive maintenance programme.
Maintenance on an array this size is a planned operation rather than a call-out. Our team worked the array systematically: cleaning all 800 modules, inspecting each for delamination, cell discolouration and junction box integrity, checking string terminations, earthing continuity and protection devices, and verifying the condition of every roof fixing.
At the inverter station, the team reviewed fault history, thermal performance and firmware status across the SMA Sunny Tripower units, then measured output string by string against expected production for the conditions on the day — so any underperformance is traced to a specific location rather than noticed as a vague shortfall months later.
Soiling is the most underestimated loss factor in Philippine conditions. Dust through the dry months and organic deposits year-round both reduce output measurably before anything looks visibly wrong. A solar array has no moving parts, which leads people to assume it needs nothing — it doesn't need much, but what it does need is invisible until it shows up on the bill.
